The product is IP69-rated for protection, and data is stored on two mirrored SSDs for enhanced data security. It is also capable of connecting to a Wi-Fi network, but this is limited to data retrieval only. Following an incident, data for a specific time interval (e.g., the 10 minutes before and after the incident) can be downloaded. A dedicated software can display these data, animating the ship's route and wind conditions on a map along with all recorded data. These data can serve as evidence regarding the course of an incident. If some necessary data are not available on the communication network, another az-smart product can digitize analog quantities and transmit them to the ship's communication network.
An optional display can be connected to the product, showing the current status report of the combined collision sensor, and in the event of a presumed collision, the system offers to replay the camera footage for a selected time interval before and after the incident (e.g., 10-20 seconds). The system may also generate automatic reports, which can be sent to a dispatch service automatically.
The product is expected to be available in 2025 Q1 – 2025 Q2.
